Please provide feedback about Open House, as we remain focused on continuous improvement.
In each of the sections below, there is a pluses and deltas. Pluses are those areas of that went well and deltas are opportuniites for improvment. Feel free to provide new sections that might allow for additional staff input.

1) The date and time of the event:
Pluses (Those things that went well):
1. It was great that this did not conflict with Pilot Cup. Perhaps we can start at 5:00.
2. It was great to have it done before Memorial Day.
3. *After testing is good *Seemed like we had extra time *Maybe one hour next year
4. Before Memorial Day worked really well as it was a great night right before the three day weekend.
5. I would not want it any later-too much work to put up then take down a week later
6. Good date.

Delta (Those things that could be improved upon):
1. One hour instead of one and a half would be much better.
2. One hour would be plenty of time since many parents left at 7pm.
3. One hour is sufficient to view all student work.
4. I agree with 1 hour being enough.

2) Communication prior to the event, including communication to teachers, students, and families:
Pluses (Those things that went well):
1. I think the flyers are a great reminder for the parents.
2. The emails were a great reminder and the information about the dinner.

3) The actual evening
Pluses
1. The Tommy's truck and yogurt truck were a great hit!! Great idea.
2. Having the Trucks here were wonderful!
3. The yogurt was great and the parents were so happy. We were supported by our principal, too.
4. Also, having someone man the parking lot was perfect so we could park!

1. Having more help and more trucks to serve those eating quicker would be great for next year.
2. Need to re-think the pre-Open House events and parking nightmare. Many parents came in very upset about the traffic situation which put a damper on the evening as did the announcements interrupting to tell people to move their cars.
3. I think 2 Tommy's trucks would be better.
4. Pre-pay the hamburgers that way no exchange of money is needed and cuts down on time spent waiting and the burger guys know how much to cook.

6. Number 2 above doesn't make sense. There is always a traffic issue here. Parents should know that.

4) The Student Open House Walk Throughs
Pluses
1. It is nice to showcase all students hard work from the year.
2. I personally love seeing all student work each year. It is helpful to get my students excited about what is to come. As we walk through the past we talk about the things they have previously learned.
3. My students love to go through the walk through! They loved having people see our classroom and seeing other classrooms.

1. I think it is sad that students have to be monitored about touching others things.
2. I had a parent in my room and she said as the 6th graders left they cranked up my radio. Luckily there wasn't anything on my desks.
3. I think its sad that we have to use this forum instead of face-to-face communication at a staff meeting!!!!!!!
4. I think that if the regular classroom teacher isn't going to walk through with the students, they should not be allowed to go. The upper graders who had subs were out of control.
5. I'd much rather leave comments here than sit through a staff meeting debriefing Open House!!!!!
6. We had no problems in our classroom and I really like this forum. It is a great way to show the pluses and minuses. Thanks!
7. Teachers need to go over expectations of their kids for the walk through, walk in orderly lines, and pay attention to what is happening with their students instead of just leading &/or walking around. We can go back and look anytime- take responsibility of your kids.
